Uninsured situations in Russia
The insurer covers the costs of emergency treatment only up to the amount of the appropriate insurance option purchased by the client (up to 30,000 EUR, up to 35,000 EUR or up to 40,000 EUR).
The insurer shall not be liable if the insured event occurred as a result of or in connection with:
- the insured remains after the use of alcohol or under the influence of alcohol, or in a state after the use of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances or substitutes, or after the use of drugs or other measures that disable consciousness, except when the consumption of these substances was for medical purposes and after on the recommendation of a doctor
- acts of war, riots, riots, martial law, acts of terrorism or sabotage, participation of the insured in illegal strikes. If, during the stay in the territory of the Russian Federation, the insured person is unexpectedly affected by war events, acts of terrorism or civil war, the insurance cover shall expire at the end of the 5th day from the beginning of the war, acts of terrorism or civil war in the territory of the country. However, the insurer shall not be liable in the event that hostilities are already underway on the territory of Russia, as well as when the insured takes an active part in the war, acts of terror or civil war
- atomic explosion or radioactive irradiation
- failure to follow a doctor's recommendations or undergoing medical procedures outside of medical supervision or by authorized persons, with the exception of providing the insured with first aid in connection with an accident
- an attempted or committing an offense by the insured, with the exception of unintentionally causing a traffic accident
- attempted suicide, deliberate self-mutilation or bodily harm at the request of the insured person
- driving a motor vehicle by the insured without the required qualifications
- participation of the Insured in the flight as a pilot, crew member or passenger of the aircraft outside licensed airlines
- alcoholism or mental disorders of the insured (disease classified in the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Health Problems as mental or behavioral disorders, including neuroses)
- an intentional act of the insured or a person with whom the insured remains in a joint household, with gross negligence of the insured, unless the payment of the insurance benefit in the given circumstances corresponds to the considerations of fairness
- failure by the insured to undergo vaccinations or other preventive treatments required in the Russian Federation
- consequences of chronic diseases
- practicing extreme sports (sports disciplines whose safe practice requires above-average skills, courage and action in high-risk conditions: practicing gliding, ballooning, parachuting, hang-gliding, paragliding, motor-gliding and all kinds of their varieties, as well as practicing any disciplines related to movement airspace, mountain biking, motor sports, mountaineering, rock climbing, rock climbing, speleology, ski jumping, mogul skating, acrobatic ski jumping and sports involving vehicles moving on snow or ice, sailing more than 20 nautical miles from shore as a crew, bungee jumping, jumping, trekking above 3000 m above sea level)
- when the insurance event arose as a result of another event occurring in the period of 24 months preceding the date of concluding the insurance contract and there is a direct and adequate causal link between this event and the insurance event
- when the insured event arose as a result of a disease that was diagnosed or treated or controlled or required medical advice during the 24 months preceding the date of concluding the insurance contract and there is a direct and adequate causal link between the disease and the insured event
- The insurer is not responsible for the costs of preventive vaccinations, except for emergency tetanus and rabies prevention
- dental treatment, except in cases that require immediate, necessary medical assistance
- treatment of diseases for which there were medical contraindications for travel, excluding situations in which the life of the insured was endangered
- treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, venereal diseases, AIDS and HIV positive, with the exception of life-threatening situations
- sanatorium treatment, prophylaxis, physiotherapy, plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures
- treatment, hospitalization or accommodation where, in the opinion of the Emergency Center physician, the start of treatment may be postponed until the insured returns from Russia
- carrying out tests unnecessary for the diagnosis or treatment of the disease, checkups and obtaining medical certificates and performing preventive vaccinations
- special nutrition of the insured, purchase of strengthening agents and products that the insured usually uses, vaccinations, massages, baths, inhalations, radiation
- using non-standard services during a hospital stay (e.g. using TV sets)
- repair and purchase of dentures, glasses and other rehabilitation equipment
- The insurer is not responsible for treatments and drugs not recognized by conventional medicine
- treatment by a doctor who is a family member of the insured person, unless he / she is a doctor appointed by the Aid Center to conduct treatment in Russia
- artificial insemination or any other fertility treatment; and the cost of contraceptives
- pregnancy, except for one medical consultation and the necessary transport to a medical facility, the upper limit of the insurer's liability for the above-mentioned services is EUR 136
The insurance does not cover the consequences of accidents injury resulting from:
- events caused by processes taking place inside the human body: heart attack, hemorrhage, stroke, sudden cardiac arrest and long-term stress, cerebral hemorrhage
- improper treatment or improper treatments performed on the insured
- infections, unless the insured person was infected with a virus and / or pathogenic bacteria as a result of the wounds sustained in the accident; wounds sustained in an accident do not include slight abrasions to the epidermis and mucosa; the consequences of viral and / or bacterial infections resulting from abrasions during an accident or later are not covered by the insurance; this limitation does not apply to: rabies and tetanus
- gastrointestinal poisoning as a result of consumption of liquid or solid substances
- abdominal hernias or inguinal hernias, unless they arise from an accident
- damage to the intervertebral discs, bleeding from internal organs, unless the cause of the above-mentioned damage was an accidental injury
- attacks of epilepsy, loss of consciousness, caused by the disease
